In my farming experience, which is pretty friggin vast, when I begin to farm an area, drops are plentiful and often. The longer I farm that area, I begin to get no drops. This has happened to me from back when we farmed Trolls till now. I don't do DoA because of this. I don't do Urgoz because of this. I don't do the Deep because of this. I don't do FoW because of this. Now, I am going to have to stop UW because of this. I have successfully made myself rich, however, this was the only part of the game I enjoyed that was left for me to do. Everything else is boring as piss. I really enjoy logging on with friends and farming HM.
I think I am going to go back to HFFF again. Which is really pitiful.

Can't you just farm on some other char, or *gasp* do something besides farming for a while?

Most Spanish players firmly believed that pets were different, like Spiders dealing poison, Lynxes running and attacking faster or bears having much more health and armor.
It took me 4 posts in a forum to convince them all that all pets are the same, with just some few exceptions with damage type, evolution and the bear skill.

When Beetlejuice potions first came out, there was a dude in beetle form in LA just rolling around. We pmed each other a few times and finally he just started following me around the map. Ended up arranging the sale of selling him as a new 'mini-pet' to a few people for an extraordinary amount of cash and ectos. Of course we couldn't actually do it, but even after explaining it was a joke, people just kept adding more ecto to the offer like PLZPLZPLZ!

I won't name the alliance, but there's a full alliance that's led by one guy. He has multiple accounts and each of the guilds in the alliance are led by him alone. Word going around is that he's like the Warlock character from Live Free or Die Hard(Silent Bob). He has a command center in his room or basement with like 20 computers and multiple ISP's to run his Guild Wars empire.

biggest one is the beliefs about the anti-farm code.
"I dont get any ectos or golds, its the anti-farm code"
its gone, AND people didnt know how it worked when it was there. it didnt lower the amount of good drops, it shut out ALL drops completely.

No, even in Normal mode, you get more drops if you're soloing without heroes and henchmen than if you're in a party.
The misconception is that ALL drops are reduced due to loot scaling. The key is only CERTAIN drops are reduced, but other drops (e.g. materials, dyes, etc) are NOT reduced. As a result, soloing is still more profitable than being in a full party.
Quote:
With loot scaling, players receive an amount of normal drops (common and uncommon rarity items, collectable drops, gold, common crafting materials) proportionate to the size of their party as compared to a full party. For example, a solo farmer will on average get the same number of blue weapons as a player in an eight person party. The only items exempt from this rule are:
Skill Tomes
Insight and Passage Scrolls
Dyes
Rare crafting materials
All rare (gold) items
All unique (green) items
Special event items
Thus, the size of a farming party, with respect to loot, only affects the distribution of the exempt items.
The loot scaling for gold and common loot is not linear with the number of players in the party, and it includes an element of randomness, so while the difference is not easy to quantify, it is by no means a factor of eight. Advanced solo farmers may now earn about twice as much gold and common loot from farming solo as they would if they farmed in a party.

Urban Legend: When a chest drops a purple item for someone, it will drop purple items for anyone attempting to open it. When doing THK back in the days we always sent one person ahead to open a chest and check it for gold items before it was safe for the rest of the team to open it

2 stories:
1) A guy posts that he wants to sell pets - I ask if it's ded or not - he whispers back saying he never killed him minipets...
2) In a group doing SS/LB farm in the sulf wastes - one of the players doesn't want to resign after killing the Margo bosses and tells us that if we kill all the monoliths the treasure chest in the temple will "regen"....In the end everybody left the team...
